All these substances, well balanced, are the ingredients of good wines.<\/p>\n<p>However, concentrations of carbon dioxide within the headspace of a fermenting tank can reach very high and dangerous levels.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-897 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.msr-electronic.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/galic_winery_1-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Wine barrels with stationary gas warning system from MSR-Electronic for safe CO2 monitoring\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" srcset=\"https:\/\/staging.msr-electronic.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/galic_winery_1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/staging.msr-electronic.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/galic_winery_1.jpg 760w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Fermenting 1 liter of grape juice releases about 40 - 60 liters of carbon dioxide.<\/p>\n<p>The danger includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>displacement of oxygen (O<sub>2<\/sub>)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>potential asphyxiation of winery workers<\/li>\n<li>risks of being exposed to high concentrations of carbon dioxide for an extended period of time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Gas poisoning incidents in the wineries are generally associated with entry into indoor fermentation area without, or prior to, adequate ventilation and CO<sub>2<\/sub> monitoring.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Thus, the CO<sub>2<\/sub> monitoring system is a must-have in any winery.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Famous Croatian winemaker Gali\u0107, in his newly opened winery in Kutjevo, adhered to the highest standards of the industry, relies on the CO<sub>2<\/sub> monitoring sensors produced by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msr-electronic.de\/en\/2019\/04\/03\/general-facts\/\">MSR-Electronic<\/a>. Two relays with adjustable switching thresholds are also available.<\/p>\n<p>Areas of CO<sub>2<\/sub> monitoring within the winery include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>fermentation rooms<\/li>\n<li>storage tanks<\/li>\n<li>barrel cellar<\/li>\n<li>bottling room<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Gali\u0107 winery in fascinating industrial and modern design building has implemented all new state-of-the-art wine technology. The surface of the winery is 3330 square meters.
