Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP) is an essential part of Qatar National Vision 2030. Through sustainable development<\/strong>, it aims to make Qatar one of the most advanced economies in the world within 2 decades.<\/p>\n

The design by renowned architectural firm Woods Bagot from Australia focuses on a green oasis with the sound of running water. By comparison, QSTP has a total area of 90 hectares - over 125 times the size of a football pitch.<\/p>\n

Continuous CO gas monitoring with gas sensors from MSR-Electronic<\/strong><\/h3>\n

5 dedicated parking zones with up to 1100 parking spaces are available to QSTP staff and visitors. The parking area meets all safety standards and is equipped with a gas warning system from MSR-Electronic<\/a> conform to the European standards EN 50545-1 and EN 50271.<\/p>\n

The gas sensors monitor the harmful CO gas in the air and thus protect<\/strong> people and the installations from dangerous situations in parking garages.<\/p>\n

Carbon monoxide (CO)<\/strong> is a highly toxic, odourless and colourless gas. Among other things, it is produced during the combustion process in car engines. It therefore poses a serious health risk, especially in garages. At high concentrations, it can be fatal. The use of a CO gas detector is therefore mandatory for public garages.<\/p>\n

For CO gas monitoring the MSR gas warning system is connected to the ventilation system<\/strong> as well. According to the Qatar project specification, all fans are switched off when the CO level is below 20 ppm<\/strong>. Once the CO level reaches 20 ppm, some fans and smoke extract fans are operated at low speed.<\/p>\n

When exceeding 35 ppm<\/strong> CO, the number of jet fans is increased and the extraction runs at low speed. However, when the CO level reaches 250 ppm, all jet fans and smoke extract units run at high speed.<\/p>\n

MSR-Electronic offers reliable sensors, controllers and warning devices for parking garages, tunnels and loading zones<\/a>. More than 140 gas sensors<\/strong> (type SC2<\/a>) continuously monitor the ambient air in a parking area of almost 20,000 m2<\/sup>.<\/p>\n
