Along with barley malt, yeast and water, hops are one of the <strong>4 ingredients<\/strong> permitted by the German Purity Law for brewing beer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3234 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.msr-electronic.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Hops-for-beer-production.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hops season and preserve the beer in a <strong>natural way<\/strong>. And to ensure that there are no fluctuations in the quality of the beer, the hop refinement process standardises the bitterness of the hops. The hops also keep longer and retain their full, naturally fresh aroma.<\/p>\n<p>About<strong> 45 kg of hop pellets<\/strong> are produced from 100 kg of raw hops. Hop refinement makes transport much easier and allows better storage and freshness.<\/p>\n<p>Refinement takes place after the hop harvest. During this process, the hop cone is freed from heavy material and metal. The purified mass is pulverized by means of a <strong>cutting mill<\/strong> and homogenised again in mixers with a capacity of approx. 3 tons, and afterwards dried in hordes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Finally, the powder reaches the <strong>pellet press<\/strong> where it is processed into hop pellets with the help of rollers and matrices and dried again. During the drying process <strong>CO<sub>2<\/sub><\/strong> is added, which is subject to permanent monitoring.
